This impressive 6 storey development is just across the road from the steps of St Paul’s Cathedral.
While a marvellous structure, the building’s hollow central core carried all systems and services to the different floors, creating lots of wasted space. Our client was keen to see us maximise the value of the property, while not adversely affecting the beauty of the structure.
By flooring the hollow core on all storeys, and moving all systems and services into a much smaller concealed riser, we added considerable usable space to the building. And then there’s the roof. Previously derelict, this open space is now a haven of tranquillity and calm, boasting panoramic views across much of the Thames skyline.
